Congratulations...

You've solved the first clue in a little ward-based treasure hunt that I made.
I have fashioned a little prize item (despite the warning in Deuteronomy 27:15) and a bunch of clues that lead to it.
The prize is not valuable, but it is neat, homemade, and one-of-a-kind.
To keep the fun going for more than one participant, I request that when you reach the end of the hunt you replace the
prize you find with an item of your own (preferably something one-of-a-kind, homemade, or otherwise fun). Please choose something that could fit inside a briefcase.

This hunt will probably not be too difficult, although there are a few tricky hurdles.
Each step along the way will require 1: solving puzzles/ciphers (or otherwise figuring out what to do) and 2: some sort of in-person aspect at the church. Therefore, don't bother guessing at the solution to each step until you have done both steps.

This website is not the primary website for the treasure hunt, but it can be used for hints and other communications with me.

Some important disclaimers:

I asked myself a few times if it was too irreverent to create a treasure hunt using hymns, sacred texts, and the physical church itself. I concluded that while it is maybe a little irreverent, it is not too irreverent. I hope you agree, and I apologize if you do not.
In an effort to maintain a minimum level of respect for the sacred space, I've decided against most of the ideas I had that involved the chapel (even though there were some really cool ideas).

Everything involved in this treasure hunt is accessible without going into areas that are typically locked (e.g. The bishop's office).
I also want to add that I hold dear the scriptures, hymns, and everything else I've used in this treasure hunt. If you know me, you'll know I like to make clues out of things that I love.

Also, most of this treasure hunt was sloppily put together last-minute. So there might be some mistakes in my clues and solutions. Sorry in advance if that is the case. Please alert me if you find anything amiss so I can fix it for anyone that solves it after you do.

To get started on the rest of the hunt, I give you this simple riddle:

Whispers and what no man has seen.
